Suffragette Costume (in progress)

Suffragette Costume (in progress), originally uploaded by pennylrichardsca.

My Halloween costume is taking shape. I’m a 1912-era suffragette, dressed all in white as many did for parades and demonstrations. The Flickr Commons uploads from the Library of Congress are mostly from 1910-1915 news archives, and the many photos of suffrage demonstrators inspired this costume. I’m still working on the hat and the protest sign…. More soon.
